GBA has teamed up with Tom Thumb Grocery Stores and their Good Neighbor Donation Program. When you shop at Tom Thumb stores, use your Good Neighbor card and Tom Thumb will donate a percentage of your purchase back to the Goin’ Band Association.

The Goin’ Band Association is pleased to announce Alumni Band Weekend 2009.

This year for the first time ever, Alumni Band Day will now be an Alumni Band Weekend.

Alumni Band Day is set for September 12, 2009 in conjunction with the Texas Tech vs. Rice football game. This year’s special guests will be members of Dean Killion’s 1^st Band in 1959 – This will be the 50^th Anniversary of Killion’s First Band! If you were part of this 1959 band. We want to hear from you.

Friday Night (9/11) – 6:00pm – Goin’ Band Alumni Cookout/Reception for family & friends hosted by Keith Bearden at Frazier Alumni Pavilion – SW of Jones Stadium – Special Recognition of Dean Killion’s 50^th Anniversary Band! Click here for more information

Saturday (9/12) – Alumni Band Day – (Schedule posted later due to game time) Texas Tech vs. Rice – Tentatively set for 6pm

Registration cost for Alumni Band Day:

Non-Members – $25

Foot ‘n Half members – $5 with current membership dues

All other membership levels – Registration is included with current membership dues.

Start making your plans NOW to arrive early on Friday afternoon & stay through Sunday afternoon.

Please keep in mind that you can participate in 1 or all events, each event is separate from the others, also, you do NOT have to march or play to participate in game day activities.

GBA has a block of hotel rooms reserved at a special discounted rate for the weekend. Remember, hotel space fills quickly on game weekends and we were able to obtain a discounted rate for you.

GBA also has an arrangement with Hertz Rental Car while you are staying in Lubbock.

****NOTE – This program will be renewed on July 1, 2009 and new information will be posted on the website as it becomes available. You MUST re-link your Kroger Card with the GBA Barcode after June. Stay Tuned!!!!

The Kroger’s Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program has changed. If you would like to participate this year please download and print this form letter. It contains our official BARCODE. Take this letter with you when you shop at Kroger and have the Cashier scan the barcode when they scan your Kroger Plus Card. Then go shopping. Kroger will write us a check for 1% of your shopping purchases. Last year we received around $200 from Kroger. This program runs from May 1st 2008 thru April 30th 2009. Thanks for your support.

60 Years of the Goin’ Band DVD

The DVD have arrived and we have shipped out all of the orders that have pre-ordered. We are STILL accepting ORDERS for the ‘60 Year History of the Goin’ Band’ on DVD. There are 11 individual DVD’s in the Collection. The DVD will be be printed on both sides of a DVD disc to save space and to keep printing costs down. So you will receive a total of 6 DVD’s. DVD’s will include Goin’ Band Video covering the 60 years of history from 1947 – 2006.

You may ORDER now by downloading the form and sending it to us with the proper payment. The Order price is $80 plus Tax/S&H. All orders must be prepaid at the time of ordering. Your payment will not be processed until the DVD’s are shipped.
