During the Membership meeting of the 2008 Alumni Band Day, the Board of Directors made a surprise donation of $10,000 to Dean Carol Edwards of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.  This money was donated to be deposited into the “Band Together Campaign - Travel Fund” for the Goin’ Band from Raiderland.    It was also announced that in addition to this money, GBA donated an additional $4000 to our scholarship endowment over the past year. 

Finally, GBA presented to Dr. Bill Ballenger, Director of the School of Music, a check for over $3300 to be deposited in the scholorship endowment.  The origin of this money is from the Ken Porter Memorial Fund Donations.

These donations were made possible through the generosity of the membership of the Goin’ Band Association.  When you join/renew your membership and purchase DVD’s, Figurines, and CD’s from GBA, this money is given back to help support the Tech Band.

Thank you for making the 21st Annual Alumni Band Day one of the biggest and best yet. The GBA Board of Directors hope you and your family had an enjoyable experience and look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Please remember that we continue to have DVD’s, Figurines, & CD’s available to purchase through the year and they all make great Christmas presents.
